Grandpa,

This is something that Lisa and I never believed would happen to our family. We still picture our family as we were growing up in our little house on Burr Oak Street in North Riverside. But we realize now how precious life is and how we must cherish each and everyday with the people that are important to us.

You and Grandma have been such a big part of our lives. We were truly blessed to have 2 sets of parents in our life. You were always there for us- to listen, to give advice, to show love when we needed it most. We want to thank you for that and everything else that you have done for us.

There are so many memories that will stay in our hearts forever. We know that you are at peace now with our family that has passed on. Please make sure that they know that we have never forgotten them either and still hold them dear to our hearts.

I just want everyone reading this to know that my Grandpa was such a good man and touched the lives of so many people. His positive outlook on life is something that we should all try to take away from this. That life is short and that we need to make each day special. That we need to be thankful to wake up in the morning, even when life seems not worth living.

Grandpa, please watch over Grandma and Mom. We worry so much about them. Please give them the strength and comfort that they need right now and always.

We will miss you so very much but know that we will all meet again. I just want you to know that the next time we watch a Twilight Zone episode or enjoy a BIG HUGE ice-cream sundae with all the toppings, we will smile and think of you.
