Hello. And Bye.
Stanley and my mother Shirley Sass were childhood friends, born days apart and growing up a few blocks from each other in Chicago. They graduated from Harrison High during very trying times for our nation, and remained loyal friends throughout their lives. Stanley was known as "Uncle Stosh" to my folks and us kids, and we always looked forward to his visits to the Chicago area - he had a smile a mile wide and lots of stories to tell. When my my mom became very ill and my father suddenly pssed, Stanley was steadfast in his support, sending cards and calling regularly. I had the pleasure of getting to know him better at this time, and we became closer friends ourselves.
I know Stanley was very much loved and will be missed by his whole family, and we are proud to include ourselves in his extended family that was so blessed to have known him. Though deeply saddened by his passing, I am comforted that he is once again with dear friends and we will see him again one day.
All our love,
Karen (Miller), Tom & Doug Grasty
Stosh was a great guy-- dear friend of my mother, Shirley Sass Miller, and also of my father, Henry Miller, both now deceased. My parents, sister Karen Miller and I all managed to stay in touch with Stosh through the years and despite the miles apart. It was always great seeing him during his regular visits back to the Chicago area, and we managed to get together with him in L.A. in 1972 while on a family vacation. He had a great long life, but will be missed.
Sincerely,
Scott Miller
