Mary Wingard Meadows

Mary Wingard Meadows, 88, widow of Edward Martin Meadows, died Saturday, November 11, 2006 at the Brian Center in Columbia. Born in Augusta, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Clarence Wingard and Lillie Boisclair Wingard. Mrs. Meadows was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women. She fostered awareness and development of the arts in the Spartanburg area. An avid genealogist, and a member of the 17th century Society of Colonial Dames, she wrote a book on the genealogy of her family, published in 1980. She was member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Surviving are daughters, Diane Gunter of Blythewood, Pamela Dorman of Columbia; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
