Memorial services for Mrs. Mildred Huston Andrews will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 11am at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1301 Richland Street, Columbia, with Pastor Frank Honeycutt officiating.. Mrs. Andrews, 94, of Columbia, died Friday at Providence Hospital Northeast. Mrs. Andrews, a native of Hagerstown, MD was the daughter of the late Earl and Cora Anderson Sneckenberger. She was the last surviving member of New Castle PA High School Class of 1929. Before moving to Columbia in 1976, she had lived in Greenville, PA, Sharon, PA, Warren, OH and New Castle, PA. She had been a homemaker and had also worked at the Westminster College Library, New Wilmington, PA and at Buhl Henderson Library, Sharon, PA. While living in Columbia, she attended classes at USC up through the 1990's and was a docent at the McKissick Museum and the Columbia Museum of Art. She was a member of Settlers Club and several book clubs. She had been a member of Living Springs Lutheran Church, Columbia, Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Columbia, SC and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Greenville, PA. Memorials may be given to The Columbia Museum of Art, 1515 Main St, Columbia, SC 29201, SCETV, 1101 George Rogers Blvd., Columbia, SC 29201 or the charity of your choice. Mrs. Andrews is pre-deceased by her husband, Dr. Raymond William Andrews, MD, who died in 2003 and John Oliver Huston who died in 1968. She is survived by a son, John O. Huston III, New Albany, OH; a daughter, Shelley I. Huston, Jamestown, PA and two grandchildren. Inurnment will be at Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville, PA, by Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home.
