Charles Marston

Charles W. Marston, formerly of South Portland, Maine, died peacefully at his daughter?s home in Pelion, South Carolina on August 11, 2005. Charles was employed by Harris Oil Company for 26 years as an Oil Burner Technician. During those years he trained new technicians proper repair methods and tricks of the trade. And he enjoyed taking his kids on emergency service calls to show them different oil burners. Charles took great pride in his work and was always ready to do whatever it took to get the job done correctly. He was a very giving person and enjoyed helping others. When he wasn?t working he enjoyed spending time in his garden planting flowers and vegetables that he would share with all his friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed fishing in Portland on the state pier with his children. Charles was predeceased by his wife Edith L. Marston, formerly of South Portland. They were happily married for 45 years. Charles will be sadly missed by his six children: Charles S. Marston of South Portland, Linda Lavigne of Pelion, South Carolina, Donna Jenkins of Goliad, Texas, Robert A. Marston of Westbrook, Kurt F. Marston of Standish, and Bernice Peterson of Hondo, Texas. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren will also miss him. There will be a private graveside service.
