Frank Mc Gill

Funeral services for Mr. Frank McGill will be private. Mr. McGill, 80, of Aiken, formerly of Augusta died Friday, August 28, 2009 at his residence.  Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice Care of America, 4314 Belair Frontage Rd., #B Augusta, GA 30909-9667.  SC Cremation & Burial Society, honored providers of Veterans Funeral Care, Graniteville is assisting the family.

 A son of the late Frank & Ida Sherwood McGill, he was born in New York, where he lived until retiring to Augusta in 1982. He had owned and operated several service stations in the New York/Connecticut area.  He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1957.  An avid golfer, he was a member of the Augusta Golf Club.  Frank was a friend of Bill W. and was well known for helping countless folks on their road to recovery.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Madeline.  Frank is survived by his daughter, Erin  (Bryan) Stewart, Aiken; 2 sons, Eugene (Betsy) Anderson, Kent, CT and Henry (Lily) Schott, Jacksonville, FL; and a companion, Betty Cayton, Augusta, GA. He was also survived by eight grandchildren, Lauren, Katharine (Shown in picture with Frank), Jennifer, Kimberly, Joseph, Malcolm, Debbie and Marcy and several great grandchildren.
