Edith Virginia Smith

Edith V.  “Edie” Smith, 75, of Gaston, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at Palmetto Richland Hospital, Columbia. A memorial service will take place on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 6pm at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Pelion. Interment in the church cemetery will be private for her family.  SC Cremation Society, Lexington is assisting the family. 

 Edith  Smith has left the building….She went to be with her Lord and her husband, George “Jack” Smith, who  died on October 13, 2008.  In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Ruth Russell and a son, Richard.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy “Kate” Lepkowski (Mark) and three sons, Doug, Randy  & Leroy  Haughton.   She is also survived by seven   grandchildren, including  Dylan  Tholen who was precious to her heart and several great grqandchildren.

Edie was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and wished to thank the members of her church family and the staff at SC Oncology, especially Mary & Kathy for their help and support.
