Mia Solomon 1956 - 2013

 Mia Solomon, 57, of Havertown, passed away peacefully on November 30th, 2013.
Beloved daughter of Irwin W. Solomon and Esther Riva (Goldstein), born in 1956 in Philadelphia, Pa.  She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Andrew Sanderson, their two sons, Eric Solomon and Brian Solomon, her sister Nora (Groban), and 4 nephews, 3 nieces, and 1 grand niece. 
A native Philadelphian, Mia graduated from the Mequan High School in 1974 and earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994.  Married in 1987 she made her home in Havertown since 1986. 
Mia was an educator and was dedicated to teaching and making a difference in people’s lives.  A licensed Psychologist, she worked as the behaviorist on the faculty of the Bryn Mawr Family Practice Residency Program, an Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology in the Rosemont College’s graduate school of psychology, and for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, working with their simulated patient program.
Mia had a passion for good food, both creating and eating, and sharing with her community of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to a fund to support the delivery of healthcare for those in need at Bryn Mawr Family Practice, Mia Solomon Fund, 1991 Sproul Rd., Ste 175, Broomall, PA 19008 or to Philabundance, 3616 S. Galloway St., Philadelphia, PA 19148.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Main Line Unitarian Church, 816 S. Valley Forge Rd., Devon, PA 19333.
