Theodora B. Miele

The staff at the South Carolina Cremation Society offers their condolences to family and friends. We join you in remembering.

Theodora B. Miele, 80, of Davie, FL passed away on August 23, 2005 from Alzheimers and stomach cancer.  A joint memorial service will be held at a later date at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, 312 E. Locust St. Clearfield, PA 16830. Burial at see will take place through the Naval station at Arlington, VA at the discretion of the Navy. 

Theodora, (Teddy) was born at Bellvue Hospital, NYC on February 23, 1925. She graduated from Clearfield High School and joined the Navy.

Teddy was married to Lewis Miele on February 26, 1946 and they spent fifty nine years together.

Teddy was a homemaker and raised five children. She enjoyed her family and her hobbies and most of her activities involved them including dog and cat rescue in conjunction with the SPCA.  As a young woman, she was an avid equestrian participating  in steeplechase events. As an adult, she was interested in rock hounding, gemology, travel and enjoyed raising violets and orchids.

Teddy is survived by daughters Rita Miele of Lexington, SC and Carolyn Miele Snyder of Clearfield, PA; two sons, Nick and Peter Miele of Clearfield, PA and Andrew Miele of Perkasie, PA. She is also survived by her granddaughters,  Haley Jean Sankey and Daniel Snyder and grandsons, Michael Snyder, Tyler, Trevor, Tanner and Brendan Miele.

Teddy was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Nick and Ida Barber. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.  The Miele family wishes to thank the US Nacy for its participation.
