Mrs. Eleanor Bennett Barton, 84, of Chapin died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her residence. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. South Carolina Cremation Society, Lexington, is assisting the family.
A daughter of the late Luther Mitchell Bennett and Daisy Maude Thomas, she was born in Charlotte, NC and had lived in Greenville, SC before moving to Chapin twenty years ago. She loved her family and sitting on her porch reading.
In addition to her parents, he was predeceased by two children, Donna Lee Nieves and Donald Bennett Barton and her husband, Don Barton, who died in September.
She is survived by her; daughter, Marcia (Bill) Blackwell, Chapin; a son, Robert “Bob” Arthur Barton, Plano, TX; a son in law, Gilbert Nieves, Chapin, SC; four grandchildren, Rob & Nicki Major, Greenville, SC, Chris (Jessica) Major, Greer, SC, Kevin (Jessica) Major, Irmo, SC and Jennifer (Jesse) Simmons, Columbia, SC. She was also survived by nine great grandchildren.
