Daniel Fitzgerald Beatty

Daniel Fitzgerald Beatty entered eternity on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at UNC Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill NC.  Daniel Fitzgerald Beatty was born on March 20, 1961 at Nassau Medical Center in East Meadow, Long Island NY to his Mother Daisy B. Battle. He was raised in Harrells, North Carolina by his grandparents, the late James and Lillian Beatty. His Aunt Grace DeVane continued to raise them after the death of his grandmother.  Daniel lived a full a valiant life.  He completed his education at East Bladen High School, located in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.  He received a full music scholarship and attended North Carolina State University located in Raleigh, North Carolina.  After completing two years of college, he saw fit to serve his country by joining the United States Army.  After the Army, he came back to New York, a state that is dear to his heart. While In New York, he worked at the World Trade Center, Merrill Lynch, and the law firm of Burckman & Rotham. Daniel was employed by the Marriot hotels for over 12 years, holding various positions, including General Manager. He loved his work and received a number of prestigious awards recognizing his hard work and dedication. Daniel leaves to cherish his memory his Mother, Daisy L. Battle; brother, Roderick D. Battle; sister, Darcel C. Battle; Aunt Grace DeVane, Uncle, Albert Beatty (Ada) Harrells, NC; Aunt Olivia Hutt (Alfred), Salisbury, MD; Aunt Clorine Chasten, Morrisville, NC; One nephew, two nieces and a host of cousins and countless friends.
