Leesville, SC-Staff Sgt. James Kenneth Francis (Ret), 59, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Jumper House, 126 Jumper Road, Prosperity, SC. Service conducted by Joe Heyward with Military Honors. Visitation will be immediately following the service.
Mr. Francis was born in Dayton, Ohio, and was the son of Mary Heyward Withers and Kerney Francis, Sr., both deceased. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Karen Dickerson. He retired as a Staff Sgt. from the US Army. He served in the Vietnam and Gulf wars.
Surviving are his son, Jason Wenum; sister, Jacqueline Foshee; brother, Kerney Francis, Jr.; Grandson, Sebastian Walker; Granddaughter, Taylor Walker; Great Granddaughter, Skarrlette Walker and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers may be directed to Agape Senior Foundation, 1053 Center St. West Columbia, SC 29169.
