Joan Shaw Mc Intosh

My Mother was in love with my father, "Mac" McIntosh. They were a team that complemented each other. Every aspect of family life was planned jointly. Mom was the planner and Dad executed the plan. Her life was centered on family, home and service to the community. Most activities were shared endeavors. Mom read to Dad while he was gardening and sat and did needle point while he did paper work. Our vacations were family camping trips, including the Grand Children in later life. She loved to cook for her everyone and was always trying out new recipes. Mom was interested in  music, loved to sing and played the flute and recorder in various groups throughout her life. She volunteered in the local schools where ever she lived in various capacities, from board member to classroom volunteer and story teller.

She loved poetry, humorous stories and songs. She often recited poems to us and the Grand Children. She was famous for her pleasant laughter. I could always hear her before I saw her. When ever I mentioned that Joan McIntosh was my Mom, I invariably heard,"Oh, She is such a lovely woman!"
