Big Jim "Big Life"

Big Jim was born December 17, 1928 on the kitchen table to Helga and Nils Nielsen on their family farm in Ascov Mn.
Big Jim passed away peacefully in his home, during the early hours of January 9th, with his sister Jean by his side.

Big Jim had a love for life, the people in it and for seeing the world. He spent a short time in the Coast Guard and then in October of 1946 he left the Coast Guard for the U.S Army. Big Jim became a MP and was sent to Japan for three years before becoming honorably discharged in 1949.
He married Betty Jean Orsene, and became the father of two wonderful children Bonnie and Randall Nielsen. The couple moved their family to California where he learned to fly small airplanes, bought a Harley, became journeymen carpenter, bought his own big rig and was able to build his own trucking business.
About 25 years ago Big Jim moved to Southern Oregon to retire, where he loved riding Harleys, camping, dancing and socializing with everyone!

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty and daughter Bonnie.
Big Jim left behind many loved ones including his sister Jean Nielsen Ames,  son Randy Nielsen and many Grand and Great Grandchildren. He will also be missed by many great friends Charlie Riddle, Jerry Ziemen, Theresia Ferguson, Geri Elmore and so many more!
