The memory that stuck

There are many but this one has always stuck with me, good or bad. When I was much younger, probably about 5, our family went berry picking. It was a hot day and I'm sure we were all exhausted. Well I fell backwards into a full bucket of berries, yes my butt fit in the bucket, and because my dad was always tinkering away in the garage and often dirty, I immediately thought to sit on him- of course. He was down low picking berries and at a perfect height for me, and I thought he wouldn't mind if I sat on his back. Yes, he had my imprint on him for the rest of the day. He was always the one to clean up after me when sick, put ear drops in his own ears first when I was scared to get them myself, and do cannon balls at the pool to make us laugh. He was very good at being the big, strong dad that tried to make you laugh when you weren't feeling so good. I appreciated that dad and will forever hold these memories close at heart along with many more. I love you.

Miss you dad

Oh my gosh where do I start, so many memories. How about when we were kids and we would go swimming after dinner at Gehringer park. Or the time that dad saved my life with the squirl in the toilet. He flew up to WA the instant he learned I was in labor with Olivia, and helped with the late night feedings. you will forever be missed dad. I miss your infectious smile that would light up his eyes.

I love you

Larryisims' "John"

"John Browner" He Taught me to change spark plugs and set distributor with new points, Change a tire. Among other things, like turn off the water while you soap up CA is dry enough, and don't touch my computer...Damnit. If you break it you better be able to fix it. Put those tools back where you found them, and I mean it... I don't care if you don't like it, she took the time to make and you'll eat it. Giant bear hugs! Shut the damn door. Awesome orange tree in the front yard. Don't smoke, Hell, I quit. (never have learned that one.) Be a MAN! "CARS ARE LIKE WOMEN", won't finish that one. Your grandmother is nuts. Turn the lights off when you leave the room. Don't even "sit" in that car! Some of these things may sound harsh? But they are NOT! It was just his style. No doubt the man had "style" I'm sure that I have more? But always with an infectious SMILE! Miss you guys. Oh yeah, and those chickens won't hurt you big weenie. Love you Uncle Larry, and miss him too. Hey you were right, "Cars ARE like women." Johnny.

ALASKA CRUISE MEMORY

I'll never forget all my fellow cruise passengers commenting about this "guy" with the huge handlebar mustache. I don't remember the exact year...maybe 2009? I finally looked where all the people were staring, and who do I see.....you guessed it.....Marilyn and Larry McClure!!!! Of course, I was delighted to find "my cousins" on the same ship. We were fortunate to have spent some wonderful moments together, some I will treasure forever.

Diane Panelli, wife Ralph Panelli, Jr. first cousin of Marilyn McClure.
