Kathy Murray

Well said, Mae McCook! My grandmother Sepple often said the same thing. Imagine - she entered at the end of World War II and left in the 1960s. Talk abut culture shock. I recall hearing that your father took her to buy her first car. I remember your parents fondly.

Alice Regina Murray

When Aunt Alice left Carmel she came to Phillipsburg, NJ to our home for a time. She was used to doing a lot of cleaning and scrubbing on a daily basis. My mother (JoAnn) was stunned to realize that our hardwood floors were being scrubbed daily! I didn't last long!

Another Story - When Aunt Alice left Carmel, JoAnn & Joe Murray went to pick her up. There were some items she was taking to our home. Some of the items were personal, others not. Years after Aunt Alice was with us, Mom discovered what was in the box in the linen closet floor... A box full of mopheads she carried out of Carmel!!!!

Deepest sympathy to Alice's nieces and nephews. I remember Alice as sociable and religious all so her life. She courageously entered the business world, bought a car and learned how to drive after leaving the convent.
Quite an achievement!

Blessings to Alice's nieces and nephews, your Aunt Alice was courageous in re entering the outside world. Getting a job, learning to drive and buying a car so that she, her mother and sister Catherine could see the world. I always admired her for that. Mae McAleer McCook, daughter of John McAleer
