We will miss you Boyd

Boyd was a good man and he will be missed.
I always looked up to Boyd and learned a lot from him in retail. I enjoyed Boyd working at The Bon Marche and I enjoyed playing golf with Boyd.

Boyd was a WWII veteran (LT. Navigator Army Air Corp). He had an extended career in retail for Allied Corp. (C.C. Andersons & Bon Marche) in Baker City, OR, Richland, WA, Yakima, WA., Idaho Falls, ID, Bellingham, WA, Seattle, WA., and Eugene, OR as Director of Bon Marche Russells where he was well remembered and respected by life-long employees and friends. Upon leaving Allied, he and DeLoris opened a men’s wear clothing store (The Clothes Corner for Men) in Bellingham, WA in 1971. When Boyd sold The Clothes Corner, they returned to Eugene, OR and he continued his retail career for The Broadway, Norm Thompson and later managed his own liquidation business. Upon retirement, he and DeLoris moved from Eugene, OR to Hemet, CA.
In the fall of 1999, he moved back to WA and married Leah Sterling. He had a great passion for golf and belonged to the West Richland Golf Club (usually first on the course) walking 18 holes five days a week until finally “breaking down” and buying an electric cart at age 88! He loved the challenge of trying to par his age and aiming for holes-in-one (4 in all). He loved his family, friends, golfing, dancing and cooking. There was nothing like “Grandpa’s homemade hash browns”!
A Celebration of Life Open House will be announced and notification posted for June, at the West Richland Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Boyd’s name to the charity of your choice.

Grandpa's hashbrowns

One of my many fond memories was when family would get together at Nana & Grandpa's,He seemed to always be up before every one else....the house filled with that un mistakable smells of hash browns cooking, coffee made and orange juice on the table , the news paper already half read ,Grandpas smile and warm "Good Morning " greeting. it was a childhood feeling that assured me that everything in my world was ok, and this was the best place to be....I Love And miss you Grandpa.......jason boyd tatum
