Alex Theriot, Iii

Mr. Alex  Theriot, III, 71, of Forest Acres died Saturday April 12, 2014 at his residence. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 2pm at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1301 Richland St. Columbia. The family will receive friends at church from 1-2pm.

A son of the late Alex Theriot, Jr. and Jessie Seybt Theriot, he was born in Vine Grove, KY  and had lived in Newberry, SC before moving to Columbia over thirty-five years ago.  He served in the US Army during the Viet Nam Conflict and was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church.

His work career started in the mail room of Allied Chemical  where he held several jobs. After fifteen years there,  he  then joined the Seibels Bruce Insurance Co. , working in their print shop for fourteen years.  Then, in the the early 1990’s he went to work for South Carolina DOT,  and was  instrumental in designing their traffic information signboards before retiring in 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Diane” Theriot of Forest Acres  He is also survived by  several cousins in South Carolina and Louisiana,  especially Larry Seybt;  several aunts and uncles, especially Billy & Lurleen Seybt  and several furry and feathery pets.
