Kathleen M. Young

Lexington, SC - Kathleen Todd Young, 81, wife of Richard Young went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on  May 20, 2014.  Mrs. Young was surrounded by family and friends prior to her death.

She was born in Islesworth Middlesex, England to Willian Henry Todd and Winifred Lewis Todd.
Kathleen met her future husband, Richard,  while he was stationed with the USAF at South Ruislip, England.
On May 11, 2014 they celebrated their 62 wedding anniversary.

Kathleen was educated in Islesworth.  Her passion was helping others which let her into the nursing field.  She retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections in 1999 after working at Kirkland Correctional Institution, Infirmary.

She is survived by her Huband and their four children.  Gary Young (Debbie) of West Columbia, Gail Wilson-Fricks (George) of Chapin, Richard Young (Cathy) of Lexington and Robert Young (Amy) of Hildalgo, IL.
She is also survived by seven grand children and thirteen great grand children.

Her service will be held on Tuesday, May 27 , 2014 at 11:00, Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington, SC.  After the service there will be refreshments and friends may visit with the family at that time.  A private burial service will be held later that day at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
