Wilfred "Sonny" Paul

Mr. Wilfred (Sonny) Paul, 79, of Saluda, SC died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center, Greenwood. Services in South Carolina will be private.  A memorial service will be held in New York State at a later date.  SC Cremation Society, Lexington is assisting the Paul family.

A son of the late Wilfred S. Paul and Ada M. Zimmer Paul, he was born in Evans Mills, NY. He attended Evans Mills High School and then served in the US Army, 1958-1960. He married Margaret “Jane” Walker on July 15, 1966. Wilfred  farmed in Pamelia, NY until he retired in 1982 and then went to work at Ft. Drum as a boiler tender and carpenter, retiring again in 2000. He spent the last ten years of his life in Saluda, SC.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Paul, Saluda, SC; two sons, Darren and Sandie Paul, Saluda, SC and Darrel Paul and his fiancé, Apryl McDonald, Evans Mills, NY;  two daughters, Kelly Turner and fiancé Timothy Schlehuber, Avon Park, FL and Melody Lane, Euless, TX; a sister, Wanda Jones, Madrid, NY.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, John Turner,  Taylor Paul, Stephanie and Craig Anders, Brandon Sibley, Christopher McDonald and Marissa McDonald, three great grandchildren, Tyler Hawk, Sydney Anders and Samantha Anders  and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Albert “Bud” Paul and four sisters; Marcia LePine, Gwendolyn Snyder, Ruth Hirst and Dawn Mitchell.
