Theodore Rathburn Sanford

Born June 7, 1937 in Syracuse, New York.  Passed away October 12, 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ted and Eva Sanford, brothers Scott Sanford and David Sanford, and his beloved wife Terrie Sanford.
Ted began his distinguished career in the Insurance industry as a Fire inspector with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.  He then moved his family to California where he had strong ties to the Methodist church and was instrumental in the planning and building of Knollwood United Methodist church of Granada Hills, still working for Liberty Mutual before moving to Jardine, Emmet and Chandler as an insurance broker.
In 1992, Ted and his wife Terrie moved to Phoenix, where he opened the Arizona office for Jardine. Ted and Terrie then owned and operated Regal Insurance Brokers. He was well known as an expert in the Insurance industry where he gained many friends and colleagues.
Ted's passions included his love for animals and gardening.
He is survived by his brothers Bill Sanford and Paul Sanford, his children Craig Sanford (Roberta), Sue Casey (Ed), Leslie Reid and Denise Pierce, grandchildren Cameron, Sean, Amanda, Kristen, Ryan, Casey, and 5 great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ted’s honor to the Humane Society.
