Robert J. Gredell

   Robert John Gredell. 63, passed peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Vitas Inpatient Hospice at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital following a short illness.

    He was born in The Bronx, NY, on April 23, 1951 to his parents Lorraine Karkula Gredell and John Paul Gredell, but has lived the majority of his adult life in various areas of Delaware County, including Lansdowne, Broomall and Upper Darby.

    Bob was a voracious reader, loved to read the daily newspapers from front to back, and was able to discuss and share his knowledge with anyone on a variety of subjects. He loved movies, old westerns ones and television shows, any type of fishing, especially surf and deep sea fishing, and animals. He also enjoyed pop-up camping with his long time companion of 20 years, Patricia Roane, and their beloved late dog, Niki.

    His work history includes mortgage banking, sales and bartending, but he has been retired for the past few years.

    Bob is survived by Pat; his children Alexis Niszczak (Jack), Matthew Gredell and Robert Gwinn; his grandson Tyler; his sisters Donna Harris (Barry) and Carol McLoughlin; his niece Lauren McLoughlin, along with his grand niece & nephew Taylor and Jake. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne and an infant daughter, Elizabeth. He also left behind his beloved German Shepherd, Schultz, and cats Gizmo and Sara Jane Smith.

   Bob wishes were cremation and to be scattered on the ocean, so there will not be a formal service; the family is planning a quiet memorial in Cape May.
