Edward V. Hagen 1945 - 2015

Edward “Eddie, Ed” Victor Hagen, 69, passed away in “his” home on Sunday, July 19, 2015 (just 11 days short of his 70th birthday and 16 days after his 50th wedding anniversary). He was born July 30, 1945 to Alfred and Dessie (Kephart) Hagen in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. On July 3, 1965 he married Jo-Ann (Kelly) Hagen of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, in Andalusia Bensalem. Eddie enjoyed working and fishing but he liked nothing more than spending time with his family.  Ed was a union carpenter in (local 1073 most recent) for 53 years and loved to help everyone. 


Survivors include his wife Jo-Ann; his 4 children, Kim Iffrig (Anthony) of Feasterville-Trevose, Scott Hagen (Kristine) of Mountain Top, Jackie Hagen (David Weir) of Feasterville-Trevose, and Annie Hagen; 7 grandchildren Dillon (Megan Lopez), Joe, Sara, Gabe, Devon, Hannah and Maddie; 3 brothers, Alfred Hagen (Pat) of Hudson Florida, Walter Hagen (Mae) of Hudson Florida, and Carl Hagen (the late Joanne) of White Haven Pennsylvania; 5 sisters, Peggy Smakula (Smokey) of Weatherly Pennsylvania, Dagney Eill (Paul) of Taylors South Carolina, Mary O’mara (Phil) of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Nancy (Wallace) Hagerman (Kip) of Bristol Pennsylvania, and Sandy Barbiero of Berlin Maryland;  Sister-in-laws, Bonnie of Feasterville-Trevose Pennsylvania and Mary Alice (Lee Boylan) of Norristown Pennsylvania, Jackie Kelly of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Jeri Gouse (Wade) of Croydon Pennsylvania, Mary Weinburger (Carl) Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Kathleen Murtland of Hudson Florida; Brother-in-Laws, Joe Kelly (the late Peggy), David Kelly (Leighann) Philadelphia Pennsylvania as well as MANY nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Dessie (Kephart) Hagen; 2 brothers Rich Hagen (Bonnie as above) of Feasterville-Trevose Pennsylvania, and Tommy Hagen (Mary Alice as above) Levittown Pennsylvania; and 3 sisters Joan Diplacido (Jim) of Bensalem Pennsylvania, Vera Anastasia (Don) of Levittown Pennsylvania and Christine who died shortly after birth.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 25, 2015 from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia-13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19116. For close family and friends, a luncheon will follow to celebrate Eddie’s life.  It will be held from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Please feel free to share any condolences, favorite memories and/or pictures here; they will be cherished by all who loved him
