Joyce, Patricia Ann “Patty” (nee Gallagher) 46, of Upper Darby passed away suddenly in her home on Feb. 26, 2016. Patty was born and raised in the Sunshine section of Upper Darby by her parents, the late Patrick and the late Anna (Noone) Gallagher.  She attended St. Laurence Roman Catholic Church and grade school. Patty grew to become a great music lover. She enjoyed many genres but she most enjoyed rock music and was an avid fan of the Grateful Dead. She also became a Philadelphia sports fan, following both the Phillies and the Flyers.  For the last 20 years, Patty has worked as a nanny for many area Day Care Centers as well as working privately for several families. She was known to be able to “light up the room” with an infectious laugh that could make anyone else smile and laugh with her. Patty was a very proud, 4 year friend of Bill W. and member of the 7109 Clubhouse. Patty is survived by her beloved daughter Dolores “Dee” Joyce of Upper Darby and her grandson Logan. She is also survived by her brother Seamus Gallagher and her ex-husband Kevin Joyce both of Upper Darby. Patty was predeceased by her sister Barbara Malloy. In addition to her many, many friends, she is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday evening from 6 until 9 PM at the John P. Donohue Funeral Home, 201 Copley Rd. Upper Darby, for a celebration of Patty’s Life. A memorial mass will be celebrated Tue. morning, March 8, in the Church of St. Laurence, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, at 10:30 AM with a visitation beginning at 9:30 AM in the church. Interment Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill. The family has requested contributions in Patty’s name be made to Catholic Partnership Schools, 808 Market St, Camden, NJ 08102.
