Eloise Mary Cummins 1940 - 2016

 Eloise M. Cummins (nee Hilt), age 75, fondly known as Ellie. Passed away March 17, 2016 at Chester County Memorial Hospital in West Chester, PA. She was born December 20, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA; to Elwood Hilt and Sadie Hilt (Stein). She graduated from Milford High School in 1958, then went on to Milford School of Nursing graduating in 1961. She married the love of her life, Victor E. Cummins on April 18, 1970.

 


Ellie loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  She was happy, always smiling, always laughing and had an infectious laugh.  She loved to be around family and friends, loved her home to be filled with chatter and laughter.   Ellie was a generous and giving person, she believed in helping till it hurt, and opened her home and heart to many over the years.  She loved to travel and had been able to see many places around the world over her lifetime. She was a Registered Nurse and a member of The Association of Operating Room Nurses for many years. Near and dear to her heart was The Humane Society and Penn Memory Center.

 


Ellie was survived by her loving husband Victor E. Cummins of 45 years. As well as a son Hilt and his wife Ann. She also has a daughter Victoria, as well as two grandchildren Emily 19 and Gavin 11. She was also survived by brothers (Arthur, David and Mark) sisters (Regina and Sharon). She had many nephews and nieces and many friends. Predeceased by both parents Elwood Hilt, Sadie Hilt; her in-laws Edmund Cummins and Gladys Cummins. Sisters Joanne Clark and Elaine Black.

 


Visitation will be on Thursday March 24, 2016 from 9:30am to 10:30am, Memorial service will follow. It will be held at John P. Donohue Funeral Home (201 Copley Road Upper Darby, PA 19082). In lieu of flowers you can make donations to The Humane Society and/or Penn Memory Center, information below.
