Michael F. Giovenella

Michael F. Giovenella,76, of Broomall, PA, died February 20, 2012. A resident of Broomall for the last 42 years, Mr. Giovenella was born in Marcus Hook, Pa. and raised in Boothwyn. He was a 1959 graduate of Temple University where he also earned a Masters Degree. Mr. Giovenella retired in 1994 after 35 years of teaching at the Drexel Hill Middle School in the Upper Darby School District. He enjoyed playing tennis, gardening and model railroading. He was also an avid Philadelphia Sports fan. He was son of the late Mike and Rose Rosati Giovenella. Survivors: Wife of 52 years Rita Gentile Giovenella, Daughter; Susan (Thomas) Scanlon of Media, Pa. Sons: Michael (Gina) of Mullica Hill, NJ and Steven (Elizabeth) Giovenella of San Antonio, TX, Sister; Rosalie Williams of Aston, Pa. and Brother; Albert (Marcy) Giovenella of Phoenixville, Pa. Grandchildren: Seamus, Luna, Eamon, Michael, Steven and Anthony. Visitation: Friday from 8:00 - 9:30 am at the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home Sproul and Lawrence Rds.
