Joseph Curtin's Story

Mr. Joseph F. Curtin, 75, of Upper Darby, Pa. died peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family on October 20, 2009. Mr. Curtin was born and raised in North Philadelphia and had been a resident of Upper Darby for over 50 years. He was a 1951 graduate of Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia. Mr. Curtin retired from the Upper Darby Post Office after 35 years as Supervisor of mail carriers. He was a member of St. Alice Church in Upper Darby and was devoted to his family. He is son of the late Joseph and Agnes Hunt Curtin. He is also predeceased by his wife Delmar C. Bernath Curtin who died in 2006, and a sister Dorothy Curtin in 1984. He is survived by 3 sons Joseph of Upper Darby, Thomas of Drexel Hill and Kevin of Philadelphia. He is also survived by 3 daughters Kathleen Johnson of Brookhaven, Mary of Springfield and Christine Trainor of Newtown Square. He is also survived by a brother William Curtin of Horsham, Pa. and a sister Madeliene DiZebbra of Glen Mills, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grand daughter. His Funeral Mass will be Saturday October 24, 2009 at 10:00am in the church of St. Alice Walnut St. and Copley Rd. Upper Darby, Pa. 19082 His viewing will be Friday evening from 7-9:00 pm at the John P. Donohue Funeral Home 201 Copley Rd. Upper Darby, Pa. 19082 and Saturday after 8:45 am in the church.
