A dear friend and mentor

I first met John in 1993, when I and my kids spent a summer in the US. I have very fond memories of that summer, and we kept in touch ever since. He was very particular about the English language; through all the years of our friendship he would correct all my mistakes and teach me a lot on grammar, the usage of certain expressions and even punctuation! I really miss his humor and his comments!
