Brian Mockewich

Brian Mockewich of Milton DE, passed away on September 10, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in Philadelphia, the first son of William Mockewich and Patricia Mockewich (Nee: McNally).

He is survived by his father, William Mockewich, brother’s Eric Mockewich (Chelsea Morningstar), Justin Mockewich (Wife: Amy Cordy), Amber Smith, nieces Sophia Mockewich and Lydia Ann Mockewich (Nee: Cordy).

Brian loved to joke around with family and his love for them was evident. He will be greatly missed as a loving son, dedicated brother, a dear and loyal friend and as a vibrant and active Uncle. Brian treasured spending time with his niece Sophia, taking his beloved pet Cody to the beach, avid Eagles fan and fervor for politics no matter what the occasion. He spent many hours developing his love for cooking as the Executive Chef at Victoria’s Restaurant located in Rehoboth Beach. His creativity and passion for developing special and unique dishes, for his family and friends was evident in the preparation time that would come to fruition in the wee hours of the morning.

Brian strived to help others as a counselor for the Coatesville Veterans Hospital.  He went above and beyond to support individuals who were facing substance abuse, homelessness, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.  

Viewing will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Short Funeral Home, 416 Federal Street, Milton, DE 19968, services to follow at 1:00 pm.
