Nicholas Cericola's Story

Nicholas Cericola, 82, of Eddystone, PA, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Chester, PA, Nick lived in Linwood for 15 years and then moved to Holmes where he lived most of his life before moving to Eddystone. He worked as a Paint Department Supervisor for the Sun Ship Building and Dry Dock for 34 years until his retirement in 1982. He also delivered flowers for Blair’s Florist for 14 years. A Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War, Nick served as a technician fifth grade and then as a corporal in Hawaii. He also served as Senior Teletype Operator and Supervisor from 1947-1949. Nick was the son of the late Louis and Edith Tassoni Cericola and the husband of the late Gloria M. Cericola who died in 1997. He is survived by his sons, David (Marliz) Cericola Sr. of Linwood, Kenneth (Donna) Cericola of Ridley Twp, Nicholas (Page) Cericola of Wildwood, NJ, Robert (Sue) Cericola of Holmes and Ronald (Lenore) Cericola of Swarthmore; Also survived by four sisters, Theresa, Rose, Mary and Roberta and his brother Louis; his companion of 14 years, Evelyn Carroll; 13 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass 11 am Saturday at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, 233 Mohawk Ave, Norwood, PA 19074 where friends may call from 9-11. Interment will follow in Ss Peter and Paul Cemetery, Broomall. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, One Medical Center Blvd, Chester, PA 19013 would be appreciated by the family.
