Arturo Fernandez

 Arturo Fernandez, age 86, former longtime resident of Boothwyn, PA and Wilmington, DE died March 10, 2019 at Fair Acres in Middletown Twp., PA.  Born and raised in Guines, Cuba,  Arturo came to the United States in 1961.  He worked as a welder retiring from Allied/General Chemical.  He was an avid gardener and loved photography, tennis, bowling, cooking, and spending time boating at the beach with friends. But the greatest love of his life was baseball.  Arturo played softball all of his life and continued to play into his 70's, playing on three softball teams and participating in the Delaware Senior Olympics (DSO) Softball Tournament.

Survivors include his former wife Marisela Gonzalez, his son, Arturo G.M. Fernandez and daughters, Ruth Fernandez Lee and Lita Fernandez Loessner. Brothers, Mario (Rosa) Fernandez, Lazarus Fernandez and Ramon Fernandez and a sister Mercedez Fernandez Waldman, 8 grandchilrden Eric Smith, Samantha Fernandez, Barry D. Lee II, Mark Lee, Christian Lee, Gabrielle Fernandez, Michael Loessner and Lucas Loessner and 4 great grandchildren Isabella Smith, Leonora Smith, Ava Smith, Cole Lee and Matthew Rodriguez.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his niece, Rosemary Holley, for the love and care she devoted to him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Friday after 11:00 am in the Danjolell / Stigale Memorial Home 3260 Concord Rd,. Aston, PA 19014 followed by a Prayer Service at 12:00 noon.  Interment private
