Memory Book

Thank you, Nick, for sharing info about the memorial service. I’m so glad we were able to attend. Your Dad was one of a kind. I will miss him and his bi-annual phone calls to me.
I’ve spent the last few days digging up all my memories. There are a lot. Geiger hired me in August 1979. I cant believe its been 40 years since we first met. I thought about all the different agents in our offices. Some still with us; some have passed. Your Dad always lit up my life every time he called me. He loved to call and, when the receptionist answered, ask to speak with the little trollop LOL. The receptionist would always buzz me and say there’s some weird guy on the phone and I don’t know what he wants. So funny. We all connected so well. It was a fun time for me.
Your Dad will be greatly missed!

On my 40th birthday, Geiger gave me a clock.
Not an ordinary clock. Of course not, it was Geiger.
You know how, back in the day, there were gas stations that sold pictures made of black velvet. Well he must have stopped at one of these and found something even better.
A clock, about 30" X 40", mirror background, trimmed in 3" ornate gold leaf (all the way around).
The face of the clock was the mirror with the numbers 3,6,9,12 about 4" in diameter were 4 religious pictures of the holy family.
At the numbers 3 and 6 were 2 glossy brass balconies, again in the same ornate gold leaf. The balconies were about 2.5"X 5". From the balconies hung 3"inch plastic ice cicles.
When I opened my present, the "CLOCK" as it became affectionately called, I fell to knees. I literally could not stand. The entire party broke out in laughter. All but my wife as she was trying to figure out what she was going to do with such an ugly present and how could I be so rude to my friend Geiger.
ONLY GEIGER. Needless to say, that "CLOCK" was the gift at many a birthday party. And everyone knew it had originated from Geiger. ONLY GEIGER! Who could think of that shit?!
