Ilaria Brownlee

Mrs. ILARIA BROWNLEE  (nee BET)  She was the daughter of Giovani Battista Bet, and Maria Milani, of Orcenico Superiore, Pordenone Italy.

and the loving wife of Lawrence Brownlee, MD .

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away at age 87 at her home in Newport Beach, California, USA on October 27, 2020 after struggling for years with Alzheimer’s Disease. 

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Larry and three daughters Teresa, Lisa and Laurie, and a sister Carmen Dixon in Gibsons, B.C.Canada.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ronnie, Maddie and Joey, all living in California, USA.

After graduating from McKim high school in Kimberley, British Columbia, Canada, Ilaria attended the Sisters of Saint Joseph School of Nursing in Victoria, B.C., Canada where she obtained her Registered Nurse degree.

Ilaria worked as an RN at hospitals in Victoria, B.C., Inglewood Ca., Vancouver, B.C., and Tustin, Ca., while putting her husband through university, medical school and internship during which time she gave birth to their three daughters.

Ilaria was a very loving wife and mother who always put her family first. 

She was a bundle of energy who loved playing tennis, cribbage and crossword puzzles. She was an excellent cook and would always have appetizers and wine on hand ready to serve guests.  She is in a better place now, but is greatly missed by her husband, family, sister and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held "tomorrow, when the world is free" again.
