Donald “Wayne “ Collins,

of Ft. Myers, Florida passed away  5/10/13 under the caring hands of Hope Hospice. Wayne was born  12/14/21, in Toledo, Ohio, to Benjamin and Florence Collins.  Entered the Army in 1941,  serving in the Chinese-Burma theatre.  Returned to civilian life in Toledo in 1945, married Florence Myers, and started a career at McGranahan’s Major Appliance Distributors for many years.  In 1971, he  moved his family to Southwest Florida, opening the first quickprinting franchise , Big Red Q Quickprint Centers, in downtown Ft. Myers, then expanding with  stores from Lakeland to Naples, Florida.

After being widowed, he married Joanne in 1977 and enjoyed many years as a proud resident of Fiddlesticks Country Club.  They enjoyed  traveling the world, especially enjoying sailing trips in the Caribbean with his daughter and husband.  He is survived by his wife, Joanne,  son Mark (Gerry) , of Port Charlotte, Florida, and daughter , Kimberly (Thomas) Mitchell, of Valley Springs, California, along  with  3 grandchildren, Amy , Lindsey, and Corey,  and  7 great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by his brother, parents and wife Florence.  Arrangements by National Cremation Society.  Per his request, no services are planned.  Those who wish to offer condolences are asked to visit www.legacy.com or www.nationalcremationsociety.com  to  sign the guestbook and leave remembrances.  Donations may be made in Wayne’s name to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Cir., Ft. Myers, Florida  33908.  He will be deeply missed by family and friends, and all who knew him.
