Karl Luebking passed away at age 74 on May 3, 2013, with his family at his side. He was born on November 17, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He married the love of his life, Marilyn on June 4, 1960. He graduated from Purdue with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his MBA from Cal State Northridge. He worked at Rocketdyne, Hydro- Air and Northrop as an Aerospace Engineer. He also taught Economics at Moorpark College. He is survived by his mother Ramona, Beavercreek, OH, his wife, Marilyn, his two children, Wendy and Brian, his brother, Dale, Beavercreek, OH and his granddaughter Brittney. In 1989 he moved with his wife to Scottsdale AZ. where they purchased an AM/PM franchise in Phoenix AZ. He operated the gas station with his wife and son until he retired in 1999. He was passionate about classic cars and hot rods and enjoyed displaying his cars at the Saturday night car shows at The Pavilions in Scottsdale. He also enjoyed body surfing, skimboarding and skateboarding.  While his children were growing up, he spent countless hours coaching soccer teams. He also coached his beloved granddaughter’s basketball team where he earned the nickname, “Coach Karl”.
