Devoted to God and to her Family

Chappell, Martha Freeman, 73, went to be with her Savior on May 11 after a valiant battle with cancer. Marty's faith in Christ gave her an enduring positive outlook and zest for living life. Her thoughtful, passionate and fun spirit touched many lives through church ministry, raising children, playing tennis w/ OTC and worldwide travel with Bud, her loving husband of over 53 years. As much as Marty loved to travel, enjoying the beauty of the ocean with him was her true joy. She was the daughter of Joel & Mary Freeman of Thomaston, GA. Marty met Bud on a blind date at Auburn University, married in 1959 and traveled every highway of life with their children Katherine White of Forsyth, GA, Will Chappell of Atlanta, GA & Terri Yates of Birmingham, AL. Marty found great happiness in making memories with her 3 grandchildren Madeleine & Gracie Yates & Ridley White. In addition to the aforementioned, Marty is survived by her mother Mary Freeman of Thomaston, GA, her sister Katherine Jeffcoat of Birmingham, AL & her brother Dr. Robert Freeman of Charleston, SC, also a niece and nephews. The family would like to express sincere thanks for the multitude of kindnesses exhibited not only the past 4 years but over her lifetime. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Winter Park on May 18. In lieu of flowers a living memorial gift to further The Jesus Film Project would be greatly appreciated at www.jesusfilm.org.

Arrangements entrusted to National Cremation & Burial Society, Oviedo.
