Helen L. Simmons

Helen L. Parkinson Simmons, 89, of Lansdowne, PA died June 26, 2013 at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Upper Darby, PA.  Mrs. Simmons was born in Philadelphia raised in Prospect Park and had been a resident of Lansdowne for the last 40 years.

  Helen retired from Clifton Precision as an electronic assembler.  She was a longtime member of St. Philomena Church, she enjoyed baking, crocheting, and family dinners. Helen was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and going to the casinos.  Most of all she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She is wife of the late John Owen Simmons who died in 1982.   Survivors: Sons, John O. Simmons,Jr. and James J. Simmons both of Lansdowne; Daughters, Joanne Dooner and Linda Swope both of Lansdowne and Rosemarie Simmons of Chadds Ford, PA, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.   Visitation: Friday July 5, 2013 after 9:00 am in the church of St. Philomena 41 E. Baltimore Ave. Lansdowne, PA 19050.  Memorial Mass 10:00 am.  Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the above mentioned church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105
