Alice D. Gorman (nee DeFrancesco) of Lansdowne passed away July 21, 2013 at the Broomall
Rehab and Nursing Center. She is the wife of Late Bernard J. Gorman, Jr. former owner of the Lansdowne Spinning Mill. Alice was born to the late Joseph and Mary (nee Ciocciola) DeFrancesco and raised in S. Phila. before moving to Lansdowne where she has resided for the last 75 years. Alice worked in the Office of the Registrar for the University of Pennsylvania for 20 years before retiring in 1998. She then went on to work in sales for Strawbridge and Clothier and later went on to have a distinguished sales carrier for Hallmark. Alice is a lifelong member of Belmont Baptist Church, Broomall and is an active member of the Belmont Belles. Alice enjoyed watching the Phillies and Eagles and is an avid fan of Pro Golf. She is the Beloved mother of Joseph M. Gorman of Odenton, MD. Mark C. Gorman of Gloucester Twp. NJ. and James S. Gorman of Heathrow, FL and the late Bernard J. III and the late Lawrence T. Gorman. Dear sister of Esther Sangiorgio of Muskegon, MI. She is the Beloved Grandmother of Elizabeth, Madison, Julia, James, Nicole and Melissa. and the great-grandmother of two.Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Sat. after 9 AM at the Belmont Baptist Church, 551 Paxon Hollow Rd., Broomall, PA 19008 followed by her Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment Sts. Peter and Paul Cem. Contributions in her memory may be made to the church in lieu of flowers.
