Kathleen Kelly 1930 - 2022

Kathleen Kelly Kathleen Kelly, age 91 of Hershey’s Mill, West Chester, PA passed away on January 10, 2022, in her home supported by the presence of her loving family. Born and raised in Delaware County, Kathleen was a resident of Hershey’s Mill for the past 24 years. After graduating from West Catholic Girl’s High School in 1948, Kathleen was an airline stewardess at American Airlines, married and raised five children, worked at Bell Telephone for 30 years and earned a Bachelor’s degree in the evening, studying English Literature at St. Joseph’s University. Kathleen loved traveling and reading but her greatest love was her family. It was crystal clear that her family was always, first and foremost, the number one priority in her life. Once she retired, she gladly set off to visit her children wherever they were around the globe. Kathleen delighted in returning to the lovely home and life she created for herself in Hershey’s Mill, playing bridge, appreciating the beauty of Chester County, the warmth of her neighbors, borrowing books from the library, and spending time with her family. She was an honest, kind woman whose gentleness and soft demeanor belied an inner resource of strength, faith and resilience that guided her in navigating life. Kathleen is survived by her five children, Pat, Kathleen, Jack, Brian, and Maureen, two daughters-in-law, Helen and Patricia, ten grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 15 nieces and nephews. She remained forever close to her sisters, Mary, who preceded her in death and Marie, her older sister, who survives her. A memorial mass, open to all, will be held on Thursday, January 13 at 10am, at S.S. Peter and Paul Church on Boot Road in West Chester. Interment will be held privately, for the family, at S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathleen’s memory may be made to West Catholic High School https://www.westcatholic.org/alumni-and-giving/give-now High School.
