Thomas Edwin Fear, 1942-2022

Thomas Edwin Fear, 79, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022.

He was born August 19, 1942, the son of Robert L. and Velma Fear of Youngstown, Ohio.  He honorably served in the United states Air Force from Jan 1961 to Feb 1965, to include a tour in Vietnam.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Owens of Youngstown, Ohio, and his son, Shawn Fear of Lexington, Kentucky; longtime partner, Rose Morris of Youngstown; grandchildren, Megan, Derek, and Elizabeth, and great-grandchildren,Bodhi, Zach, and Dahl.  Tom was a special friend, father and grandfather figure to his neighbors, Jon, Roberta, Madison and Morgan, and truly cherished the time spent with them. He was also especially fond of the many wonderful people he met during his BMW motorcycle rides throughout the years, and valued the lasting connections formed with Karl and Nancy, and many others whose names, unfortunately, are not known to me. It was his dream to travel, via motorcycle, around the U.S., and he made that dream come true, logging over 100,000+ miles, and nearly reaching his 200,000 mile goal.  Stu, his long-time fellow craftsman and faithful servant, shared many years providing services to so many people and, while doing so, developed a lasting friendship that stretched decades.  And Judie, whom he met while in the service, became "pen pals", and remained and developed their valued friendship over the course of over 55+ years.  While there are certainly more people within his circle, these are just a few that were with him in his last few months.

Special thanks to each of Tom's medical professionals and specialists who, over the many years and up to the very end of his life, provided exceptional care, guidance, and friendship.  Of note, his Doctors Tim Barreiro (Pulmonologist), Kwon Miller (Cardiologist), Greggory Zinni, and his daughters, FNP-Cs Elizabeth Zinni and Joey Annichine, and the staff from the Veteran's Affairs of Youngstown, by his own account, saved his life on many occassions.

Services will be held at Green Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery, located at 3495 South Canfield-Niles Road, Canfield, OH on August 19, 2022, at 1:00 P.M, with Internment to follow for family members, only.  Military Honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Meander Post 9571, Ellsworth, OH.

Tom was a staunch supporter of rescued animals, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Friends of Fido" (https://www.friendsoffidomahoning.org/) to support the many animals in their care.
