In Loving Memory of Mary Ann

SAVANNAH, 12/23/2023 — Mary Ann (Smith) Boone, beloved mother, grandmother, friend and proprietor of Arthur Smith Antiques, passed away at 5:45am on December 23, 2023, at the age of 84. Born on December 4, 1939, in Savannah, she was the cherished daughter of Arthur G. and Laliah (Price) Smith.

Mary Ann's true joy came from her role as a devoted mother and sister. She leaves behind her ex-husband and dear friend, Raymond Valderrama, as well as her two sons, Charles "Jimmy" Darsey and Raymond "Todd" Valderrama. Her unconditional love and unwavering support were the pillars upon which her family thrived. Mary Ann also held a special place in her heart for her granddaughter, Christa Darsey, who brought immeasurable happiness and pride to her life.

While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in knowing that Mary Ann has been reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her. She is predeceased by her father, Arthur G. Smith, her mother, Laliah (Price) Smith, her brothers, Arthur and Lawrence, her sisters, Helena and Sarah Jane, and her son, Christopher Randolph Darsey. Their spirits now watch over us, lending strength and guidance in our time of mourning.

Mary Ann's faith was an integral part of her life. She found comfort and inspiration in her study of the Church of Christ, Scientist, where she discovered the power of spiritual healing and the boundless grace of the divine.

Further arrangements will be announced in due course. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Christian Science Reading Room, located at 211 E. Victory Drive in Savannah, Georgia. These contributions will honor Mary Ann's memory and support the noble work of the reading room.

Mary Ann Boone will forever be remembered for her enduring love, her unwavering devotion to family, and her profound impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, in the embrace of the divine, and may her memory continue to inspire and uplift us.
