Mr. Maher, 75, of Augusta, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at GLC Windermere, Augusta.

Born in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Charles and Florence Maloney Maher.

He lived in Cincinnati, OH and Sana Rosa Beach before moving to North Augusta in 1999 He was a retired principal from Cincinnati Academy of Physical Education. He was a member of the Augusta Unitarian Universalist Church.

He is survived by his life partner of thirty years, Alan Totten, North Augusta, grandson, John Daniel Maher, sisters, Joyce (Fritz) Schlager, Ethel (John) Weber,  brother, Charles (Charlotte) Maher, several nieces and nephews.
