Memory Book

From the time that I first met her in Washington, D.C. when Janie and Tina were our babies I discovered how beautiful and bright person she was. She and your Dad had come to visit us and to see the national monuments. We went to Philadelphia for the wedding a couple of months later.
When your Dad contracted the cancer that took his life we discovered how courageous a person she was with the obligations of providing a wonderful and full life for the three of you. There is no one in the Furlong family for whom I have greater respect.

Thank you for the model mother and loving citizen you were and are in the memory of all of us.
Ed Cahill-- brother-in-law for twenty six years and godfather of Esther.

What a wonderful woman we have lost.

My family lived two houses away from the Furlongs. Angelika and my mother, Betty became very close as they had young children and unfortunately, both became widowed early. My brother Tom and I had a wonderful visit with Angelika a few years ago and recalled good times. Thank you Angelika for being there for my mother when she needed you. God bless you! Frank Freeman

Omi

Nearly every school day I would stand and wait for the bus with Omi. Omi's smile would brighten as I practiced my German with her. She reflected on her life and told me about the war and her memories of Heidelberg. Once, she invited me and my daughter to her home for tea and to look through her photos. I declined - always too busy. Now, I wish I had accepted. I am so sorry. Omi was a wonderful person.

Thinking of You

Your mom was always so happy and outgoing, it was so fun to see her with your kids and your family. I am so sorry for your loss and my heart hurts for you.
