Leonard Lombardo's Story

Leonard E. "Len" Lombardo, 79, of Swarthmore, PA, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his loving family.
 
Leonard was born in Philadelphia to the late Carmello and Mary Natale Lombardo.  He grew up in South Philadelphia, and was a resident of Kennett Square and Springfield for most of his life.  Mr. Lombardo worked as a car salesman for Pacifico Mazda, retiring in 2000. 
 
A loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Mr. Lombardo was also devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary.  He was very well known for his beliefs as a Pro-Life Advocate.  Leonard was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Kennett Square where he was involved in  many of the Church responsibilites including tending to the Church garden and being active with the Prison Ministry.
 
A Veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Lombardo served as a corporal during the Korean Conflict.
 
He is survived by his children, Donna M. McGlynn and her husband Leo of Swarthmore, Leonard J. Lombardo and his wife Janice of Kennett Square and Lisa A. Keeney and her husband Daniel of Norwood; brother, Charles Lombardo of Philadelphia; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Leo, Kelly, Leonard, Michael, Megan and Daniel; 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Riley, Devon and Isabella.
 
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass 10 am Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 212 Meredith St, Kennett Square, PA 19348.  Friends may call from 8-9:30 am at the Kuzo-Grieco Funeral Home, 250 W. State St, Kennett Square, Pa 19348.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Kennett Square. 
Contributions in his name to Chester County Pro Life Coalition 590 Snyder Ave. West Chester, Pa. 19382 would be appreciated by the family.
