Fellow TBAC Member

Diane was one of those people that was just a really nice person… always had time for others and gave her all for the dog clubs she was a member of. Loved seeing her at the TBAC trials with her dobie and her daughter… sharing the experiences. Yes gone, but never forgotten by so many.

You will be missed <3

Diane Scola was my mom mom. She was very kind to many many people and her loving animals. I have a bunch of memories of me and Diane. i Remember going over to carols house with her and played with the dogs and watched movies. I remember going to meetings and dog shows and just like her i love animals! Diane Scola was the most caring person i know. We all know she has a special place in our hearts and she`ll always be watching down on us, Protecting us, and caring for us even though she is not here with us.

I have known Diane for many years. She was one of my students at Tail Blazers Agility but she also taught me a lot about her Dobermans. Every Christmas she would come in with a big package of cookies that she had baked from scratch and every one of them was delicious! Even if she didn't have class, she would make a special trip to the barn to deliver the cookies. She was a very kind, generous, giving person and my thoughts go out to her family and other friends. She will be missed.

Diane and Cali

These pictures are of Diane with Cali on her lap. They were taken months before Cali had to be put down. Diane was at my house for one of our many "movie" nights", a chance for Diane to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of my house. We would eat our buttered popcorn and watch one of the latest releases or something we picked from the cable. Those were wonderful evenings and I miss her companionship so much.

An Understanding Friend

My condolences to the family for their loss, as Diane is not a member easy to lose. When you go to a dog show, you look for certain people to be there because you know you have a friend. For me, dog trials and shows will not be the same.

I met Diane in 1999 when I was running in a dog in Agility and we started to bump into each other at Obedience trials and Breed Shows. It was refreshing to find someone to hang out with who was knowledgeable about that “dual ring dog” and who was always there to share in wins and losses. A lot of my knowledge of Dobermans comes from Diane and I will miss our training conversations. I am forever grateful to her.

May her family and friends find peace in knowing Diane touched a lot of lives in so many ways. My heart goes out to each of you.

You will be missed

I'm so saddened to hear that Diane has passed away. The world will be a little less bright without her in it.

I remember the first time we met - it was when I started doing agility at TBAC and she was handling all the memberships. Rather than have me mail it to her, she kindly waited for me after her class was over so she could meet me in person and pick up my paperwork. From that first meeting, her kindness and enthusiasm showed through immediately. We ended up chatting for quite a while that first day. We talked about our love of big dogs and how much fun agility was. She welcomed me to the barn with a warm heart.

We've had many conversations since that first day & I've always enjoyed Diane's stories as well as the good advice she doled out. She had been doing agility for quite a while - I think my favorite stories were the ones she shared about what agility was like in the early days. She will be terribly missed.

Diane was a steadfast member of my Friday night Obedience class since the eighties. She made us laugh each week, she also made us cry when she told us sad or happy stories of her many dogs and rescued cats. She cooked like an angel...her monkey bread was heavenly. In so many ways, Diane was an angel, tho with a fun devilish side as well. Diane was a kind unique individual ,,,and still is at that Rainbow Bridge, where I am sure she is flocked by all of her animals, and all dogs that knew her. thanks Diane, for being you, with love, Marsha Smith

Lovely Lady

I did not get to know Diane very well, however she was always quick with a hello and a smile. Diane was so supportive at trials. After a run, with a big smile, it was, good job, nice run, even though we dropped 9 out of 10 bars.
My thoughts go out to her family and friends. Be at peace.

Judge Judy

My fondest memory is teaching with Diane at Kruisin' Kanines barn. We would meet weekly with our dinner and sit in her big van and laugh and talk about Judge Judy, Diane's favorite show. I looked forward to seeing Diane and "Judy" every week!
Diane introduced me to her daughter, Stacy and she would become my dogs' favorite sitter.
Later in life, Diane and I would keep in touch through email or at shows.
Godspeed my friend. You have given me wonderful memories. May your family find peace knowing you are in a better place.

To my friend and mentor.

-Diane-
My friendship with Diane begin in the year 2000, when I took my Red Doberman, Rudy, to obedience class. Diane was there with her red bitch, Share, and our two dogs, as well as Diane and myself, hit it off immediately. That began a relationship that has lasted until Diane was taken from us.
It was Diane who convinced me to compete in obedience with Rudy, then had to educate me on the process of where to begin and how to do it. She tried to talk me into agility but I wanted to concentrate on getting Rudy’s obedience titles first. She shared the many disappointments and non-qualifying scores Rudy and I received with empathy and humor, just saying, “He’s a red, Carol.” I wish she had been with us when he finally got his third qualifying score in Utility. But she was the first person I called with the news and she celebrated with me.
At that point, she was determined to get me interested and involved in agility, and we never looked back. We went to many agility trials together and shared our triumphs and defeats. They were the most enjoyable moments I spent with Diane, because, regardless of the outcome at the trials, we always had fun.
There are so many memories I could share about our time together, but two play out in my mind so sharply. One was an obedience trial that we took Cali and Ice to. We left them in my van with a “Stay” command and went back up to the ring to watch the rest of the trial. When we returned to the car, the two dogs were obediently lying in the van and the slider door was wide open. I had forgotten to close it, but they never jumped out. We laughed about that half the drive home.
The other was an agility trial we attended when it was pouring rain. Neither of us qualified and we were soaked to the bones, but we stopped at a restaurant, left the dogs in the car and went in to eat. Diane’s coat was so saturated that when she went to put it back on, there was a huge puddle on the floor and the coat must have weighed 25 pounds.
We spent many a Friday evening going for a cheeseburger and French fries after our obedience class, where we would discuss our dogs’ good or bad performances.
Diane was the “go to” person for any questions, issues or problems I had with my dogs. She had a wealth of knowledge about the Doberman as a breed and educated me on the “standard”. Despite her many explanations of the Doberman conformation, I was never able to discern between all the dogs in the breed show. They all looked perfect to me.
I am immensely grateful to Diane for so many kindnesses and favors she bestowed on me. She was with me when I had to euthanize Rudy and Cali, standing quietly by in case I needed her. And the greatest thing she ever did for me was coming over to my house every day around noon and letting Cali outside, because she was on large doses of diuretics and needed to potty. She sat with Cali for over an hour every day and played with Tryst as well. And toward the end of Cali’s illness, when she wouldn’t eat, Diane would bring over any meat she had from home and feed her by hand. I would never be able to adequately repay her for all she did for me and my dogs.
Diane taught me so much about obedience and agility but mostly about having fun with my dogs and cherishing every day we have with them - just as I cherish every day, every activity, every phone conversation Diane and I shared for fifteen years . I miss you so much, my friend. Rest in peace.
