Diane e. Scola 1944 - 2015

Diane M. Scola (Egner), 71, died at home, surrounded by family, in Folsom, PA on September 18, 2015.  Born in Philadelphia, she graduated from Frankford High School.

"If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men."
Francis of Assisi

Diane lived by many credos, all of them clear, strong and purposeful, but perhaps none sum her up as succinctly as this from another great lover of animals, St. Francis of Assisi.
Diane devoted much of her life to caring for and guiding her family of two and four legged beings with love and consistency.
Of course, this is expected with her daughter Stacy, son Ernie and her grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, Bryanne, Anthony, Dominic and Salvatore. What may be more unique is her lifelong devotion to creatures great and small. This passion brought her to sharing her life with horses, dogs, cats, birds and the occasional wild animal in need. She faced all of these needy creatures with love and caring, always making a difference.
This dedication began as a teenager when Diane traveled to New Jersey to care for her horse, Buddy.  She competed in (bareback) Barrel racing and Pole Bending, winning  many awards and trophies- she was known to be one of the riders to beat.  She met her husband through horseback riding and left it to start a family.
Actually, Diane made a difference for every person with whom she had a relationship. She was a loyal friend, a loving mother and tireless worker for many organizations. Diane held offices in Delaware County Kennel Club, Penn Treaty Kennel Club, Doberman Pinscher Club of America and Tailblazers Agility Club.  Diane was an AKC registered Doberman Pinscher breeder, registered kennel name Redoak which garnered many awards and titles over the years.

Diane worked at Voigt’s Gulf as the Office Manager for 30 years. Prior to that Diane was a bank teller, and always had a talent for numbers, budgets and accounting. These careers were a natural fit for Diane.
All who knew and loved Diane embrace this quote now in our time of sorrow, and always.
"Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart, your spirit lives within me, forever in my heart.
