I remember Ken as a colleague at Deloitte and as a friend. We had lost touch with each other = I am sorry to learn that he died.

Our family didn't get to know Ken as long as we would have liked, but as soon as we met him we hoped to have him as a life long friend. He was completely down to earth and could laugh along with anything. He had a way of putting people at ease with his cheery personality. He had a huge heart and we are glad we got to share in part of his life. RIP

Empowerment Through Knowledge

Ken was one of the most passionate people I have had the pleasure of knowing in regards to sharing what he knew. He truly believed in empowering himself and those around him through knowledge. Discussing a particular technical or audit quality topic with him was always an enjoyable and enlightening experience. He is, and will continue to be greatly missed.

What a laugh

Ken's laugh was contagious! Everyone loved him. When he'd walk into a room he would light it up and we would all say, with happiness, "Ken!!!!", because he truly made the day full with his energy. BDO will miss him, I genuinely will miss him, and I hope he's enjoying the party in the sky.

You are missed

I’ve had the pleasure to meet Ken about 4 years ago. The first time we crossed paths, he came into my class and facilitated 2 sessions when I had a conflict. When I returned, I asked the class how was the instructor. There was an overwhelming 'Ken was awesome’, ‘He knows his stuff’, ‘He’s way better than you, Kevin’. After meeting Ken, I can easily see why he deserved the praise. Since then, I had the privilege to work alongside Ken. He has been part of a core group of friends I look forward to meeting with at our trainings and events every year and is part of the reason why I’ve stayed as long as I have.
We will all miss that laugh, Ken, and we offer your entire family and network of friends our condolences.

you will be missed...

I knew Ken for only a short time but during that time he was a joy to work with. Always willing to go the extra mile to make things happen and always in a positive way. He was a great trainer and the Houston office will miss his help and support during our transition.

You were a good man. He will be missed by all who knew him.

THAT Laugh

I hear it over and over and over in my head and will never get enough of it.

Ken and I shared a lot of passions, yet the ones personal to me were our unending back and forth exchanges of random pop-culture references and far-reaching analogies to translate our present observations. And Ken, you have me sold that in fact “3 is a Magic Number”.

Wherever his soul is right now, ALL I want to do is give it the hugest of hugs.

Thanks for the memories

I had the privilege to teach about a dozen training sessions at the firm with Ken over the past couple years. Our vastly different styles complimented each other, and we had a lot of fun teaching a lot of people some relatively dry content.

Like a good Disney movie that has different lines for kids and for adults, Ken had the unique ability to teach a concept to people with vastly different levels of experience, few new associates to seasoned partners – one of the hardest things to do when facilitating professional trainings.

Over the fall months, we even re-wrote a 2.5-day training session on our firm’s audit software which I hoped we would get to teach together many times.

On a personal level, Ken became a confidant and a source of valuable professional advice, for which I will always be grateful.

When we traveled in the Midwest or Southeast, we had several memorable meals together at Steak n Shake – one of Ken’s favorites - in 4 or 5 different states. The evening I heard the news last week, I had a double steakburger and “birthday cake shake” in Ken’s honor.

Ken will be missed by many, and there are many of us who consider ourselves blessed to have crossed paths with him.

Training

I met Ken as a co-facilitator for the first time and he was fantastic at reading the room and understanding how to deliver the message. The combination of his joyful personality and teaching accounting made him extremely unique and delightful. I am very sad about this sudden news and wish the entire family and friends condolences.

Mr. Anthony Araneta

I'll always remember Ken's infectious laughter. We always joked around and I gave him a hard time that just because you laugh after saying something mean doesn't make it mean. I'll definitely always remember our times of laughing uncontrollably. You'll be missed Ken. RIP.
