John Watson Graham 1919 - 2016

John “Jack” Watson Graham, 97, of Flourtown passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 4, 2016. 
Born October 10, 1919 in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Dr. Archibald Hunter Graham and Rhea Darling Watson.  He was predeceased by sisters Grace and Rhea and brother Harry.
John was the beloved husband of Jeanne Carroll Graham with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.  He is also survived by son John Watson Graham of Gilbertsville and Barbara Graham Fenton and husband John Fenton of Downingtown and grandsons Graham and Hunter Fenton. He was predeceased by his grandson Sean Watson Graham.
John graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1938. As a young man he was active in the Salvation Army and played the horn for the Salvation Army band.  He served in the Army Air Corp during WW II.  Upon returning home from overseas, he spent most of his career as an administrator and executive assistant in the railroad industry, first working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Penn Central and finally retiring from Conrail after 43 years of service.  He was well known by his co-workers for his efficiency, quick wit and sense of humor.
John and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially to his beloved Scotland, and made the trek across the Atlantic 27 times.
There will be no visitation and interment will be private.  A celebration of life service will be scheduled for a later date. 
In lieu of flowers, and to honor his memory, donations can be made in his name to The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia, 4050 Conshohocken Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19131.
