Agnes P. Poynton

Agnes Poynton (nee Penney), of The Villages, FL, formerly of East Lansdowne, PA and Ocean City, NJ passed peacefully on the day after Christmas.  Her husband, John Poynton, preceded her to heaven in 1993, as well as her grandson Thomas Jr.  Agnes lived independently for the last 25 years.  She is survived by her children, John Jr.(Catherine), Robert (Joan), Penney Summers Muzyka (Andrew), Thomas (Sharon) and Richard (Patricia).  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Agnes attended St. Cyril's School and Villa Maria Academy.  She taught 2nd grade at St. Cyril's School and Aloysius Academy. Upon retirement she enjoyed life with with her husband in Ocean City, NJ and upon his passing she became a full time resident of The Villages in Florida.  She enjoyed golf, card games and going to shows with her many friends. She also was active in St. Timothy's Parish in The Villages, as a reader and an Eucharistic Minister bringing Communion to shut ins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday December 31, 2018 after 10:00 am in the church of St. Denis Eagle Rd. and St. Denis Lane Havertown, PA 19083.  Followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 am.  Interment Sts. Peter & Paul cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Cyril's School 716 Emerson Ave. east Lansdowne, PA 19050
