Jeremy Zeid Steinberg 1952 - 2019

Jeremy Steinberg was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, and a friend. His first and only love was his wife Janis who he met via a personal ad in the Jewish Exponent. He won her over with one of his favorite hobbies, writing poetry, and their love only got stronger over the 35 years they were married. They settled down in West Philadelphia and their home became his favorite place in the world. He spent most of his time there, listening to and playing harmonica, working out, playing online chess, practicing martial arts, watching Philly sports, listening to WIP sports radio, and watching television. In later years he filled the house with collections of things that gave him joy – marbles, artwork, and harmonicas. His other greatest loves were his children, Rachel and Jesse. He was the most attentive and loving father, teaching them about everything from chess to power tools, while finding time to attend baseball games, science competitions, and reading books with them every night. Being an avid animal lover, his family also included loving pets throughout the years including Ginger, Shannon, Dane, Dodger, Simba, Hercules, Bambi and Zoey. He will be remembered for being the definition of an individual, always proud to be exactly who he was – eccentric, kind, verbose, loving, sensitive, funny, and one of a kind.

A visitation will be held at the family’s home in Philadelphia on Saturday January 26th from 12pm-5pm  . If you are able to attend, stop by anytime within that timeframe. If you are unable to attend, the family welcomes any comments, memories or photos that you can post and upload here on the online memorial.
